Alan Myers issues Everton transfer update on Leeds United ace Willy Gnonto and ex Tottenham loanee Arnaut Danjuma

Alan Myers has issued an update on the Everton pursuit of Leeds United ace Willy Gnonto and former Tottenham Hotspur loanee Arnaut Danjuma.

The Sky Sports journalist claims that while interest is there, a move for either is not imminent as things stand.

The Toffees are looking to add firepower to their ranks in the final third, especially after not bringing in new signings in January.

Myers wrote on Twitter, “Everton are interested in both Wilfred Gnonto and Danjuma, nothing imminent on either, the club is considering a number of options in the forward positions.”

Step up

If they’re targeting both and willing to sign both in the same window, Sean Dyche perhaps sees Gnonto as more of a central option.

Prior to his move to Elland Road, the Italian played down the middle for both club and country.

However, at Leeds, he’s predominantly been used as a wide player on the left and that’s where the Dutchman plays as well.

This means that instead of getting two in the same position, one will be signed with a view to lead the line and score goals and Gnonto clearly does that better.

However, they need to step up as both players are talented and will be wanted by a number of clubs this summer.

Ashley Young looks to be the first one through the door but even these two signings are extremely important for the Toffees to start their summer plans.

In other Everton news, an exit-linked Toffees player has recently been spotted in talks with a senior Goodison Park figure ahead of the new season.
