Everton hunt to sign Ryan Sessegnon takes twist as Tottenham news emerges
Everton have been dealt a fresh blow in their attempts to sign defender Ryan Sessegnon from Tottenham Hotspur this summer, according to the Evening Standard.
The Spurs wing-back’s hopes of securing a move away from North London have been dashed after he has suffered yet another hamstring injury – a problem that has plagued him for a number of seasons.
The Standard is reporting on 12 July that the 23-year-old, who had been linked with a number of Premier League sides, is now expected to be out until at least September and will no longer be moving on this summer.

Frustrating
The news of Sessegnon’s injury will come as a blow to Sean Dyche and the Everton hierarchy, as they look to bolster their options down the left side of the pitch.
Although he hasn’t pulled up any trees since joining Tottenham four years ago, he is still relatively young having only just turned 23 a couple of months ago and he has always been highly thought of since breaking through at Fulham.
The main issue, though, is his injuries and another hamstring problem looks set to hold him back once again. If Sessegnon can stay fit, he would be a real asset for most Premier League sides with his ability to play in a number of left-sided positions.

Perhaps this will be a transfer that Everton may look at again when the January transfer window comes around, but they will probably start looking towards other similar targets in the meantime.
Bringing in a player like Ashley Young – a deal that appears to be all but completed – will go some towards filling that gap with his noted versatility.
In other Everton news, Dyche is looking to reunite with an international striker that previously played under him at Burnley.
