Everton re-open talks to sign Arnaut Danjuma as Sean Dyche makes transfer decision

Everton have re-opened talks to sign Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma just six months after he controversially turned the club down to sign for Tottenham, according to TEAMtalk.

The 26-year-old completed his Toffees medical in January ahead of a move to Merseyside before the opportunity to play Champions League football led to him joining Spurs.

But in a shock move, TEAMtalk now understands Everton have registered their interest again in the Dutch international’s services and Sean Dyche has given the green light for a deal to be completed to bring him to Goodison Park this summer.

Redemption

This would be a surprising move after Danjuma left Everton red-faced in January when he decided to join Spurs despite all but signing for the Toffees.

It’s unlikely the news will initially go down too well with the club’s supporters, given that they demand their players to be completely committed to the cause and his previous actions showed that wasn’t the case.

They will, however, trust Dyche’s judgement after he found the right formula to keep Everton in the Premier League last season when all hope looked lost.

The winger will likely have a point to prove after a disappointing loan spell in North London, where he made just 12 appearances and scored two goals.

If he can regain the form of his Bournemouth days and time at Villarreal before the move to Spurs, then the fans will quickly be back on his side and he’ll add more quality than they currently have in the wide areas.
