Simon Jordan shares Everton relegation verdict amid Ashley Young transfer news
Simon Jordan does not believe that Everton can avoid another Premier League relegation battle with the signature of Ashley Young.
As reported by Sky Sports News (10 July), Sean Dyche’s outfit are closing in on a free transfer for the 38-year-old veteran.
The versatile Young left fellow Premier League club Aston Villa earlier this summer upon the expiry of his contract at Villa Park.

“Is it going to be something that helps Everton avoid getting into the same position as they were last year? No, I don’t suppose it is,” Jordan said live on talkSPORT.
“I suppose it’s part of an organisation that Sean Dyche is trying to improve, and Sean is not an idiot. He will have known the economic challenges that Everton have got.
“He will work on improving the circumstances at Everton, then work on improving the amount of money he can get from the owners.”

Important signing
Young will definitely be an important player for Everton for the upcoming season, even if he is closing in on the final stages of his career.
At 38, the player’s experience will be crucial both on and off the pitch as the Toffees look to avoid a third successive Premier League relegation battle.
Young may be approaching retirement age, but he proved last season that he is still more than capable of competing at the highest level, having played a key role as Aston Villa secured a European spot.
Moreover, he comes at a time when Everton right-back Seamus Coleman is nursing an injury, which could see Young provide ideal cover thanks to his superb versatility.
The former Manchester United and Watford man is also able to operate at left-back and on the wing, which could come in very handy for Dyche in the upcoming season. His transfer fee meanwhile speaks for itself amid Everton’s serious financial issues.
In other Everton news, one Manchester United star has sent James Garner a three-word message after the youngster helped fire England Under-21s to European Championship success.
