Everton to start new round of transfer negotiations for Anthony Elanga as Thursday morning update emerges – Fabrizio Romano
Everton are set to start a fresh round of negotiations with Manchester United over the possibility of signing Anthony Elanga, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The transfer guru tweeted that several clubs have shown an interest in the Swedish international since January, but that the Toffees will hold direct talks with the Red Devils after “showing initial interest”.
The Liverpool Echo is reporting that the Old Trafford club may be happier to loan the 21-year-old out, but the news outlet believes they may entertain offers in the region of £10million.
Promising
It’s great news from an Everton perspective to hear that the transfer does seem to be moving forwards, even if it is just a small step at this moment in time.
Bringing in a player of Elanga’s quality would be a real coup for the Toffees and, given that he is still only 21, he has a lot of time on his side to improve in the future.
He has stalled a bit since Erik ten Hag came in at Old Trafford, having only made seven starts in all competitions last season.

But he has shown that he has an awful lot of talent since breaking into the first-team picture in 2021, with Gary Neville previously going as far as to compare him to Premier League great Thierry Henry.
The Swede will be hungry to get his career back on track and earning regular minutes at Goodison Park could be the perfect opportunity for him to do just that.
In other Everton news, the Toffees are reportedly leading the race for another winger with Premier League experience.
