Dele Alli makes return to Everton training after brave interview with Gary Neville

Everton star Dele Alli has been pictured in training for the first time since his emotional interview with Gary Neville.

Alli was pictured working on his first touch and general fitness in some one-on-one training drills with a member of the Everton coaching staff in Evian, France, as reported by the Daily Mail (14 July).

These pictures represent the former England international’s first public appearance since his brave and powerful interview with Gary Neville.

On Thursday 13 July the interview was released on the official Overlap YouTube channel and saw Alli open up on past trauma and struggles he has experienced, to which he has received a flood of supportive messages from the footballing world.

During the interview, he spoke of his desire to return to his best on the football pitch.

First steps

It appears as if the 27-year-old being pictured in training is the first step on his road to making a return to his best football form.

His incredibly moving interview was an extraordinary watch and demonstrated to the world how no one knows what is going on behind closed doors and explained his dip in form on the field over the past few years.

It was a fantastic thing for Alli to do and will leave many feeling inspired and the whole football world will now be supporting the Englishman as they hope to see him return to his previous heights.

Toffees fans in particular will hope this can be a springboard for Alli to get back to where he once was and most importantly just enjoy playing his football again.

Whether or not he is able to recapture that form remains to be seen, but, whatever happens, Alli should certainly hold his head high after opening up to the world.
