Everton want four new transfers before Premier League season kicks off

Sean Dyche wants to complete four new Everton transfers before the new Premier League season kicks off, according to The Telegraph.

The newspaper has reported that the Toffees are still facing serious financial limitations with exits already sealed for Ellis Simms and Ishe Samuels-Smith.

Ashley Young became the first transfer of the summer on Thursday 13 July, with four more deals wanted in the next 29 days, with a busy month expected.

Despite the big sales of Richarlison and Anthony Gordon in the past couple of years, Everton are facing limits on what they can actually spend.

Rafa Benitez and Frank Lampard faced the exact same trouble in their times in charge, and now Dyche must find a way to box smarter in the transfer market.

Difficult.

With pre-season training now well underway, Kevin Thelwell will also be working very hard to get some transfers off the ground for Dyche and his squad.

Anthony Elanga at Manchester United appears to be the next cab off the block, with the Sweden international heavily linked with a move to Goodison again.

Relegated players such as Jack Harrison and Wilfried Gnonto at Leeds appear to be out of reach at this moment of time, despite their club dropping out of the Premier League.

That only highlights how bad the finances are right now under Farhad Moshiri after years of reckless spending, and the profit and sustainability charge hanging over our heads.

MSP Sports Capital and their investment cannot come soon enough, but that is likely to have little bearing on transfer activity, with losses and the new stadium more immediate concerns, it seems.

Four new transfers seem ambitious, let’s hope we are proven wrong.
