Everton could miss out on Arnaut Danjuma with rapid AC Milan transfer now on the cards

It’s hard to believe but lightning could be about to strike twice as Arnaut Danjuma looks set to snub Everton for the second time.

The Villarreal winger all but signed for the Toffees when they agreed a deal for him in January before he was then persuaded to join Tottenham on loan following the lure of Champions League football.

It was reported by transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano on 14 July that Sean Dyche has held a meeting with the Dutch international as he looks to tempt him to join Everton this summer.

But in a dramatic turn of events and one that may feel awfully similar to Blues fans, it now looks as though the 26-year-old could be about to make a move to AC Milan. res

Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that the Serie A giants are in negotiations for the winger, with a potential deal not too far away from being agreed upon.

This would mark a huge blow to Dyche’s plans for the transfer window, as he looks to build a stronger squad for the upcoming season while working under noted financial constraints.

Danjuma would not be popular once again with the Everton faithful after previously turning them down and showing he isn’t keen on a move to Goodison Park.

There is no doubt that a move to Milan could be more tempting at the moment in time, but he would be almost guaranteed more minutes on Merseyside.

Everton

It’s understandable to see why the club do continue to pursue a deal for the attacker, given the excellent form he showed in a Villarreal shirt before heading to Tottenham on loan.

But the fact he isn’t going out of his way to sign for the Toffees and earn some of the supporters’ trust following his previous snubbing, suggests he probably isn’t the kind of player they would want at the club.

Perhaps the best solution for all involved is to move on, with Danjuma joining a side he truly wants to be at and Everton looking at an alternative player that really does want to play for them.

In other Everton news, the Toffees are edging closer to signing an Italian international.
