Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga makes Everton transfer decision

Manchester United forward Anthony Elanga has made a decision on his future amid interest from Everton, according to the Daily Mail.

The British newspaper reported online (17 July) that Elanga now knows where his future lies, however it will reportedly not be at Goodison Park.

Everton had been linked with a move for the 21-year-old winger, which would have excited fans after his bright performances during his limited game time last season.

Although it now appears the Swede’s future lies elsewhere and the Toffees will need to shift their transfer search.

Setback

This news will come as a major disappointment for Sean Dyche and the club’s supporters.

Elanga is a promising prospect with great potential that is yet to be unlocked, but it seems now he will not be developing his game on Merseyside.

The Toffees are in desperate need of some firepower going forward after a dismal season last year in which only Wolves scored fewer Premier League goals and the United youngster would have been a key addition.

Now that a deal does not appear set to materialise the club will need to quickly move on and identify new transfer targets. They are still in need of a number nine and that should now be the main priority.

If Dyche’s side goes into next season without a new striker they might face yet another relegation battle and could fail to escape on this occasion.

Elanga might not work out but there are other options out there, Everton must now find them.

In other Everton news, one other transfer for a winger might not be dead after all.
