Everton hurry as El Bilal Toure transfer may not be possible anymore

Everton may be realising that a potential deal to sign Almeria striker El Bilal Toure may not be possible this summer, as they wait for his price to lower amid interest from other teams, according to IDEAL.

The Spanish news outlet revealed on 17 July that Everton continue to hurry to see whether Almeria will lower their price demands for the player, but this looks unlikely due to the level of interest in him from around the world, including Italian club Atalanta and Saudi Arabian sides.

This has led Everton to realise this deal may not be possible, as the price would need to drop before they can make their interest concrete, despite initial reports suggesting a large bid had been made. Almeria meanwhile rejected a bid of £18.8million from Atalanta.

Everton should consider other options

It appears Toure may have been Everton’s top target for their striker position, which they have made a priority this summer due to Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s injury concerns. However, they can’t put all their eggs in one basket, especially then they don’t think they can afford the player.

Waiting for the price tag to magically get lower in a bidding war that you seemed to start is certainly an interesting tactic. Ultimately, Everton can either afford Toure or they can’t. If they can, what’s the use of waiting around, and if they can’t they need to move on.

The Toffees have also been linked to Sheffield United star Iliman Ndiaye, who would be a cheaper and possibly even better option, as well as Nigerian striker Victor Boniface, who once again would be a strong option for a considerably lower price.

Everton should broaden their horizons in their search for a new striker, rather than waiting around for a deal that might not ever happen after all.

In other Everton news, the club have made a £20m+ bid for a very exciting player according to reports.
