Everton fan and Golfer Tommy Fleetwood backs Sean Dyche to produce positive season
English golfer Tommy Fleetwood has admitted he has enough of seeing Everton fighting at the bottom of the table, speaking to Sky Sports ahead of the Open.
Before the tournament gets underway tomorrow, Fleetwood found time to answer a reporter’s question about his beloved Toffees where he was asked what he has found more difficult, the turmoil in the world of golf or that at Goodison in recent seasons.
Sean Dyche managed to keep his side in the Premier League on the final day with a win over AFC Bournemouth which saw Leeds United and Leicester City relegated, and Fleetwood believes Dyche deserves credit but hopes the future is brighter.

Speaking on June 19, he said: “There’s a bit of a reprieve when the season ends. I think for everyone who is involved at Everton or a fan of Everton, I think it was great to finish the year like we did, but I’d like to be done with where we’ve been in the league and trying to scrap for safety year on year.
“I think Sean’s done a fantastic job, I think he did really really well in the culture he created and the way that they played on the pitch for the remaining part of the year. We’ll see how we go in the league, it would be nice to have a good start.
“I didn’t go back for the last game of the season, I was much happier and comfier watching on my couch thinking of all the possibilities of what might happen, there were plenty of cushions in front of my face.”
In need of a break
It’s perhaps been lost in the chaos of the last few years at Goodison Park how much of a rollercoaster these last few seasons have been for the Everton fanbase who previously had been so comfortable in the Premier League.
While the transfer window so far has offered very little to create a huge wave of optimism on the blue half of Merseyside, with only Ashley Young joining the ranks so far, Sean Dyche is a master of building competitive and hard-to-play sides on a limited budget.

Add to that a few exciting links to the likes of Leeds winger Wilfried Gnonto and Senegalese forward Boulaye Dia in the last few days, surely Dyche will have enough to give the Everton fanbase a season of respite instead of another hidden behind the sofa.
Nobody will be expecting a top-half or European push, but most Evertonians would be more than happy to enjoy a season without having to cover their eyes with a cushion or hide behind the sofa.
In other Everton news, they have until midnight on Thursday to make their move for Salernitana striker Boulaye Dia
