Everton set to land Villarreal forward Arnaut Danjuma, Goodison Park his ‘destiny’

Everton are set to beat AC Milan to the signing of Villarreal forward Arnaut Danjuma as a move to Goodison Park is his “destiny,” according to Diario AS.

The Spanish newspaper reported on 20 July that Milan have “said goodbye” to a deal for the Dutch winger and that he is “one step away” from joining the Toffees.

It claims Villarreal are looking for a fee in the region of £3.5million for the 26-year-old, with a move to Merseyside now “finally his destiny” after weeks of speculation.

Finally

It’s been some time coming, but it looks as though Everton finally have their man and Danjuma will be lining up in a Blues shirt next season.

The Toffees have long been admirers of the Villarreal forward after he controversially snubbed the club in January after it appeared he had all but signed a deal at Goodison Park.

He instead decided to make the switch to join Tottenham, where he didn’t have a great time during his six-month loan spell, scoring two goals in 12 appearances.

It’s unlikely the news will initially go down too well with the club’s supporters, given that they demand their players to be completely committed to the cause and his previous actions showed that wasn’t the case.

They will, however, trust Dyche’s judgement after he found the right formula to keep Everton in the Premier League last season and now they look likely to have an excellent player on their hands if they can get him back to playing at his best.
