Medical on Thursday for Arnaut Danjuma as Everton reach agreement – Sky Sports

Everton are expecting Villareal forward Arnaut Danjuma to complete his medical on Thursday ahead of a season-long loan move according to Sky Sports News.

The Dutch forward is set to join the Toffees on a temporary basis after snubbing a move to Goodison Park last January in favour of a six-month loan spell with Tottenham Hotspur, but Sky say talks continued despite the player’s decision last season.

It has been reported the loan fee paid by Sean Dyche’s side will be around £3.5m and the 26-year-old will provide Everton with an extra forward option as they hope to stay well clear of Premier League relegation.

Reporting the news of the deal being agreed, Sky wrote: “Arnaut Danjuma has agreed to join Everton on a loan deal from Villarreal. It’s expected he will undergo a medical today. Sky Sports News understands the loan fee to be around £3.5m.

Having chosen to head to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium rather than Goodison in January, Danjuma only managed to feature nine times in the league for Spurs, scoring once, leaving many to suggest that he made the wrong choice in destination.

Got their man in the end

Rightfully so there was a bit of unease in the Everton fanbase when news broke that he had opted to join Antonio Conte’s side at the eleventh hour, but it seems as though those in charge of proceedings on Merseyside were a bit more relaxed knowing they could get their man in the summer.

Now what remains to be seen is where Danjuma will be deployed by Dyche now that he looks to have him at his disposal, he is more than capable of playing anywhere across a front three and carries a genuine goal threat, scoring 10 times 17 LaLiga starts during the 2021-22 season.

Everton desperately need goals and wherever they opt to play their new man, you would back the Dutchman to help their cause in front of goal. Another consistent source of goals may well help ease the pressure on the shoulders of Dominic Calvert-Lewin who the Toffees have relied so heavily on the fitness of in recent seasons.

Danjuma himself may also help bring out the best in some of the Toffees’ other forwards, in his final campaign with Bournemouth he was able to earn eight assists while also finding the net himself 17 times. If he can transition this form from La Liga and the Championship he will be an excellent loan signing for Everton and one you can imagine they may aim to make permanent next year.
