Alan Myers shares update on next Everton signing after Arnaut Danjuma transfer

Alan Myers believes that Everton will sign a forward next once they complete the deal to secure the services of Villarreal’s Arnaut Danjuma.

The Sky Sports news editor claims [20 July] that Danjuma will be undergoing his medical this weekend before the announcement can be made.

The Toffees were keen on signing a new striker in January but failed to get a deal over the line.

Via Twitter, Myers wrote, “I think there’s a fair chance he will be a forward.”

Quick

Everton cannot afford to be dilly-dallying in their pursuit to sign a new striker and must not repeat the mistakes from January.

They left it too late in that window and then ended up signing nobody and Sean Dyche remarkably managed to keep the Toffees up.

With Anthony Gordon also leaving, the side were weaker than what they were when he took over and even a betting man would not favour them to stay up.

Everton

There was a stroke of good fortune along the way but Dyche deserves all the credit in the world for performing a miracle.

Now, the Everton board cannot let him down and need to bring him a striker as soon as possible with pre-season already in full swing.

Hopefully, he proves to be an upgrade on Dominic Calvert-Lewin and his fitness does not prove to be a major issue.

In other Everton news, an exit-linked Toffees player has recently been spotted in talks with a senior Goodison Park figure ahead of the new season.
