Everton transfer news: Update emerges on Watford ace Ismaila Sarr pursuit with Marseille bid on the table
Everton are battling Marseille in the race to sign Watford winger Ismaila Sarr this summer, according to an exclusive by Santi Aouna.
The Foot Mercato journalist took to Twitter to claim [22 July] that Marseille already had an offer on the table for him.
Talks are ongoing with Watford over the transfer but the Senegal international, 25, is open to moving to the Ligue 1 outfit this summer.
Via Twitter, Aouna wrote, “More details on Sarr – OM: A first offer has already been sent by OM to the player. The Watford striker is interested. Discussions already started with the Hornets. Interest from Everton. File not linked to Iliman Ndiaye.”
Can convince him?
Sarr’s someone who’s played in the Premier League and has adapted extremely well to English football so it’s not like the country does not suit him.
In fact, last season, he bagged 10 goals and seven assists in the league and was one of the Hornets’ star players.
He’ll obviously want to leave for a top-flight side and there are no surprises that he’s open to moving to Marseille.

However, should Everton come knocking at his door, there’s a very good case to be made for the 25-year-old to move to Goodison Park.
Sean Dyche will absolutely love him as he can play on either flank, down the middle and even as a number 10.
In fact, in the four games he played in that shadow striker role last season, he scored one and provided two assists so that could be a role he could thrive in playing behind the striker in a 4-2-3-1 system.
In other Everton news, an exit-linked Toffees player has recently been spotted in talks with a senior Goodison Park figure ahead of the new season.
