Everton transfer verdict shared amid ‘desperate’ Farhad Moshiri claim

Everton are in “desperate” need of cohesion due to the recent failures of owner Farhad Moshiri, according to Liverpool Echo journalist Chris Beesley.

The journalist noted that Toffees manager Sean Dyche will find it difficult to bring new players to the club due to their difficult financial situation.

The Merseyside outfit have been involved in a Premier League relegation battle for the past two seasons, narrowly surviving the drop on both occasions.

“The former Burnley manager is not able to wave a magic wand to restore the spending power of the early years under Farhad Moshiri when the failures of their profligacy that the majority shareholder has himself admitted to got them into the difficult financial position they currently face but having previously been forced to work wonders on a relative shoe string at Turf Moor, the 52-year-old is trying to get the most out of those who are at his disposal in ways that he can influence,” Beesley wrote for the Liverpool Echo.

“The managerial churn since Moshiri acquired his controlling stake in the club – nobody has yet completed two full seasons – and the patchwork quilt of a squad it has created having been assembled by seven bosses in as many years, each with wildly varying football philosophies, has left the Blues in desperate need for some cohesion.”

Constant struggles

Everton’s recent struggles on and off the pitch have been well documented, and while Dyche would have been aware of the issues at the club before joining, perhaps he was not fully aware of just how challenging they would be.

The manager has, however, brought a sense of stability to the Merseyside outfit, epitomised of course by the boss helping the club secure their Premier League safety on the final day of the season in May.

But even then, things could have been made safer long before then, with poor displays before that huge final day win against Bournemouth condemning the Toffees to a very nervous ending.

There is plenty of work to be done now by the manager and his staff, with new faces set to help the club massively in their pursuit back to their best.

But that has been made near-impossible due to the financial issues, with free transfers such as that of Ashley Young perhaps the best that Toffees fans can hope for this summer.

In other Everton news, Alan Myers has shared an update on the imminency of the Toffees signing one Leeds United star amid speculation.
