Everton told to sign Alfredo Morelos as transfer verdict emerges
Dean Jones has called upon Everton to sign former Rangers ace Alfredo Morelos this summer instead of pursuing a move for El Bilal Toure.
The former Eurosport journalist said a move for the Colombian striker, who is available on a free transfer after leaving Ibrox last season, would make more financial sense than a move for Toure.
The Mirror reported on 13 July that the Toffees had made a £25million bid for the Mali international, with Almeria valuing the 21-year-old at about £34million.

“I mean, it doesn’t feel like a moment where Everton can afford to take a big-money risk on someone like this,” Jones told Give Me Sport.
“I’d personally find that hugely surprising if they were to do something like that and I do think they’d be better off looking at someone like Morelos, who has a lot of qualities to offer – the ultimate one being the fighting quality that I think Sean Dyche would absolutely love.”
Makes financial sense
In terms of finances, there is no doubt that a move for Morelos would make more financial sense than signing Toure at this moment in time.
Dyche is keen to strengthen a number of areas of his squad while working under a restricted budget this summer, so the club can’t really afford to be splashing so much cash on just one player.
The only problem with Morelos is you don’t really know what you’re going to get. The forward scored 124 goals and recorded 58 assists in 269 games for Rangers, but he was also known for his fiery temper that landed him in trouble on a number of occasions.

Signing the Columbian international on a short-term deal is relatively risk free and would add another much-needed forward options to the Toffees’ squad.
He is also still only 27 years old, so if he were to make the move to Goodison Park, he has a number of years left in the tank to prove his worth and the fans really could grow to love him.
If it’s down to the two players, Morelos makes more sense right now.
In other Everton news, concerns have surfaced around two Toffees stars.
