Everton could lose Jordan Pickford after Manchester United transfer update
Manchester United could reignite their interest in Everton and England first-choice goalkeeper Jordan Pickford after Japanese news outlet Sponichi reported the Red Devils have been turned down by Ayatsu Suzuki.
The Japanese report states that Suzuki turned down a move to Manchester as he wishes to take part in next year’s Paris Olympics, so prioritised the environment in which he would be playing – likely with game time being an important factor.
After David de Gea left the club upon the expiry of his contract this summer, United were linked heavily with a move for Pickford, but talk died down as news of a move for Suzuki emerged. With that transfer seemingly off the table, the club could return for the Everton ‘keeper.

Manchester United have completed the signing of Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana this summer, who will likely be their number one for the upcoming season, but Robbie Fowler told Manchester Evening News on 9 July that a move for Pickford shouldn’t be ruled out despite moving for Onana.
As unlikely as a move for Pickford may be, reports have suggested that the interest remains in the England international, and without having Suzuki lined up, Pickford could reemerge as a target for the Manchester club.
The England goalkeeper has made 217 Premier League appearances for Everton while being capped 54 times for his country, during which time he has reached the final of the European Championships, a World Cup semi-final, and a World Cup quarter-final, where he has played a huge role in his country’s progression.

Everton fans will recognise his talent, and perhaps even admit that without him they may have seen the club relegated already, so should United return with interest in him, there will be plenty of nerves at Goodison Park.
In other Everton news, a midfielder has been given the green light to leave the club this summer.
