Door now wide open for Everton to sign Crysencio Summerville after Leeds transfer development
Leeds United are reportedly open to the sale of Crysencio Summerville and Wilfried Gnonto this summer leaving the door wide open for Everton to make their exciting summer moves.
Leeds Live journalist Beren Cross reported on 19 July that both Summerville and Illan Meslier are expected to leave this summer along with Junior Firpo if the right offers arrive before the window closes.
It is also said in the Daily Mail (26 July) that the Whites are expecting to lose the Dutch wonder along with another Everton target Wilfried Gnonto and are working on a number of new signings as a result.

The Telegraph journalist Mike McGrath reported on 21 June that Everton along with Dutch outfit Feyenoord are interested in Summerville’s services this summer and following the signing of Arnaut Danjuma, the Toffees now have the perfect chance to get two more exciting attacking additions through the door.
Gnonto, 19, has also been heavily pursued by Everton so far this summer, with a £15million bid rejected according to another Mail report on 15 July.
And journalist Simon Jones reported on Wednesday (26 July): “The club saw Max Wober join Borussia Monchengladbach on loan yesterday so are looking to add two centre-backs, two midfielders, a winger and a striker with Patrick Bamford, Willy Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville among those expected to leave.”
Things desperately need to change at Goodison Park, after what’s been a tumultuous five years or so in terms of recruitment. Everton have been guilty of paying bucket loads of cash on players either past their best or simply not worth a multi-million-pound outlay.
However, in Summerville, dubbed “exceptional” by pundit Michael Owen for his performance against Tottenham earlier in the 2022/23 campaign, Everton could look to herald in a new recruitment strategy but allow Dyche to be more expansive and tactically expressive than ever before.

Both Summerville and Gnonto can certainly aid that refreshing new outlook and with Leeds United desperate to secure targets of their own, there remains a real possibility that the Toffees can acquire them both at knock-down prices, and it is certainly time for majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri to let the cash fly at Goodison Park because both players are attracting hot interest from elsewhere.
Possessing tremendous trickery, pace, technical quality and the attacking aura to wow the Everton crowd who have been forced to watch on as their team implode in all areas of the pitch in recent times, both Summerville and Gnonto hold the potential to win points on their own and represents the perfect tonic for Dyche to help Everton climb the Premier League table and become relevant again.

With the Toffees also targeting the likes of Gnonto, Summerville, Nottingham Forest’s Brennan Johnson and Juventus’ young wonder Samuel Iling-Junior, Dyche’s intent to transform the feeling around Everton and make them an attacking force again is evidently clear and Danjuma’s addition points to an exciting new era.
These are the kind of players Everton should be possessing in their weaponry in the coming future.
