Everton transfer news as Alan Myers shares latest on Youssef Chermiti move
Following Everton agreeing a fee with Sporting CP to sign striker Youssef Chermiti, with a deal verbally agreed in recent hours, there is still work to do before the transfer can go through, according to Alan Myers.
The Sky Sports journalist shared via his personal Twitter account that personal terms still need to be agreed with the young talisman.
This comes after Fabrizio Romano shared that Everton had reached an agreement in principle to bring Chermiti to the club, with Wolves and Bournemouth also interested.
Deal to be completed soon
All signs point towards this deal taking place in the coming days if not sooner, with personal terms still to be agreed with the striker, but the news that things are looking good despite interest from Premier League sides Bournemouth and Wolves is a very good sign.
Everton have already missed out on a number of strikers this summer after being pipped to signings by other clubs, with Viktor Gyokeres moving to Sporting (perhaps an element that allowed this deal to take place), Illiman N’Diaye set to move to Marseille, and El Bilal Toure moving to Atalanta.
News that the club are finally prepared to beat other interested teams to a signing will be a welcome relief to Everton fans, with a week still to go before the Premier League season kicks off.

A new striker has been a priority for Everton this summer, as they look to strengthen in forward areas due to Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s injury issues, and Neal Maupday’s wasteful record in front of goal.
The club are looking to avoid another relegation battle this season, and signing players that can score and take them away from last season’s second-worst league goal tally will be a huge boost to those hopes.
