Salernitana chairman reacts to potential Everton bid for Boulaye Dia transfer
Salernitana chairman Danilo Iervolino would not mind an Everton cash-plus player offer for Boulaye Dia this summer, according to La Citta di Salerno.
The local Italian news outlet shared that any deal involving Neal Maupay would take his fancy, given his interest in the French striker at the same time.
The report suggests the English club could make an offer of around £17million plus Maupay in an attempt to sign the 16-goal striker, although Dia is more likely to stay than leave at this moment.

A long back-and-forth
There has been a lot of back-and-forths between the two clubs if reports are to be believed, which may not bode well for Everton’s chances of sealing this deal following the outcomes of previous long-winded transfer chases they have been involved in this summer.
The Toffees have already missed out on Viktor Gyokeres, who joined Sporting CP, El Bilal Toure, who joined Atalanta, and Illiman N’Diaye who is set to join Marseille this summer, following drawn-out transfer rumours.
The report from Italy is slightly conflicting, suggesting the club’s managing director thinks the player is more likely to stay than leave this summer, while the chairman would like to see the move happen. It is also claimed that “only English sides” would be able to do the deal due to the finances involved.

With the Premier League season set to kick off in two weeks’ time, Everton are still yet to reach a deal for any player in their priority target position this summer, as they look to strengthen the squad up front due to Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s injury problems and Neal Maupay’s profligacy.
The Toffees are still looking to add to their squad up front following the arrival of Arnaut Danjuma on loan from Villarreal, but it does not look to be going too well right now.
In other Everton news, Sean Dyche has provided an update on Calvert-Lewin’s injury progress.
