Ex-Liverpool man Neil Ruddock makes Everton relegation prediction amid lack of signings
Neil Ruddock has predicted Everton will get relegated from the Premier League in the upcoming season.
Speaking on the talkSPORT Breakfast Show, the ex-Liverpool defender said he believes the Toffees will be facing the drop alongside Wolves and Sheffield United.
Ruddock highlighted Everton’s lack of signings as the primary reason for his decision after Sean Dyche has so far only managed to bring in Ashley Young on a free transfer and Arnaut Danjuma on a season-long loan from Villarreal.
“I am worried about Everton,” said Ruddock. “It’s not because I’m ex-Liverpool – Merseyside needs Liverpool against Everton.
“But with the signings they’ve made, they’ve made a couple of them. Ashley Young from Villa, what is he 38? Everton have to improve, they haven’t improved. For the last two seasons, they’ve stayed up in the last game of the season.”
Cause for concern
Although there’s still plenty of time to bring in new signings, there probably is cause for concern amongst Everton fans about the club’s lack of signings so far in this transfer window.
Even though Ruddock is biased towards Liverpool, he won’t be alone in thinking the Blues could face the drop this season if a few more players don’t arrive at Goodison Park soon.
The last couple of seasons has been extremely difficult for the club and they simply can’t afford to be drawn into a relegation battle again because one of these times it’s not going to work out for them.

There are perhaps a few more teams that are worse than the Toffees at this current moment, but it’s a big club and shouldn’t be getting drawn into these conversations.
Dyche and the club’s hierarchy simply have to find a way to strengthen the squad in the upcoming weeks and, after what the manager achieved last season, he is probably the best man to do that.
In other Everton news, one Toffees forward is on the verge of leaving after a deal has been agreed with another club.
