Youseff Chermiti’s father confirms Everton agreement with Sporting as proposal is considered
Sporting Lisbon forward Youseff Chermiti’s father has confirmed that Everton have reached an agreement with the Portuguese club for the striker, according to Fabrizio Romano.
News broke courtesy of the transfer specialist on Monday [31 July] that the Toffees had agreed a deal with Sporting to buy the 19-year-old striker and now it is down to the player to agree personal terms.
Their remains work to be done to get the deal over the line, but Chermiti and his father have received the first proposal from Sean Dyche’s side and expected to take their time to come to the correct decision.
Taking to Twitter, Chermiti’s father was quoted via Romano saying: “Yes, we were informed that Sporting agreed a deal in principle to transfer Youssef. Now, we will calmly analyse the proposal that Everton has just presented to us.”
Everton are hoping that personal terms can be agreed quickly, and they can begin to bring an end to their striker search, with Chermiti set to be one of at least a couple of new additions up front.
Get it over the line
Everton want to get their transfer business completed before the Premier League season gets underway and it appears this deal is the first that has to be done for the rest of the window’s business to rumble on.
What does speak volumes about the quotes from the 19-year-old’s father is that they are showing great maturity in their decision making, removing emotion from any decision making and taking time to decide their next steps.

That should be something that encourages Everton fans, that despite his young age, the striker appears to have sensible people around him who are looking for the best for his career.
Hopefully the proposal is accepted, and the Toffees can tick attacker number two off of their list having signed Arnaut Danjuma on loan from Villareal, and then begin the work on the next forward.
If a deal can’t be agreed, nobody can accuse Dyche’s side of not working hard enough to try and get signings over the line this transfer window.
