Everton dealt another transfer blow as Tyler Adams update emerges at Leeds United
It’s been another interesting transfer window for Everton to say the least, with the Toffees once again doing their best to strengthen but often coming up short.
That was the case with former Almeria striker El Bilal Toure, who had Everton staff on standby for a medical, only to go and join Serie A club Atalanta [Sky Sports, 28 July].
That was a blow for the Toffees, but they seem to have impressively bounced back rather quickly, with Sporting CP striker Youssef Chermiti closing in on a switch to the Merseyside club (O Jogo, 3 August).

Similar magic will be needed by the powers that be at the Toffees when it comes to bringing in a new midfielder, with a blow emerging regarding their interest in Leeds United ace Tyler Adams.
According to the Daily Mail (19 June), the Toffees made an enquiry about the USA international. The interest from Sean Dyche and Co. is unsurprising, with Adams having shone in a disappointing Leeds side that were relegated from the Premier League last season.
Adams was forced to watch on from the sidelines in the latter stages of the campaign due to his hamstring injury, with that injury still preventing him from getting back on the pitch.

And that is bad news for Everton, with TEAMtalk (3 August) noting that the midfielder is “not agitating” for an Elland Road exit right now, with a focus instead on getting back to full fitness.
There is no doubting he would improve Dyche’s midfield, however even if Adams is set to leave, there is absolutely no guarantee that Everton would come close to his signature.
Leeds could set a substantial and therefore unrealistic price tag for the USA star in terms of Everton’s budget, while they also face a battle with a Premier League rival as Chelsea show an interest in the player [The Guardian, 2 August].
In other Everton news, the Toffees are set for a financial windfall as “seven figure” news emerges regarding the Merseyside club.
