Everton transfer news as Leeds United and Aston Villa handed blow in Dion Lopy chase
Everton, Leeds United and Aston Villa are all set to miss out on the services of Reims midfielder Dion Lopy in this transfer window.
According to the Daily Mail on Monday afternoon (7 August), the 21-year-old Senegal international is set to join La Liga side Almeria.
The report claims that Leeds were exploring a move for him while the same publication in April mentioned the Toffees and Villa Park outfit also showing an interest in his services.

However, the decision appears to be made and he’s now on his way to Spain, handing the three Premier League sides a blow.
Everton could’ve done with a player of Lopy’s calibre and he certainly would’ve brought something different to this midfield.
With Alex Iwobi playing out wide, Tom Davies leaving the club, Amadou Onana linked with an exit and Idrissa Gueye turning 34 next month, a new midfielder needs to be targeted once they get a striker over the line.

Lopy is a midfielder powerhouse and would’ve been ideal for Sean Dyche as he likes someone with an engine room in the middle of the park.
However, unfortunately, they will have to look at other options now and they need to get done with their business as soon as possible.
The new season is just around the corner and only two new signings have been made which is not impressive for a club that narrowly avoided relegation in May.
In exclusive Everton news, the Toffees now have to pay £21.4m to land a Brazilian player ahead of next season.
