Everton transfer news as winner named in race to sign Basel striker Dan Ndoye
Everton made a fresh approach to sign Basel striker and Bologna transfer target Dan Nodye on Monday, 7 August, according to Luca Bendoni.
Gianluca Di Marzio’s staffer claims that despite the Toffees approach, the Switzerland international, 22, has reached an agreement with the Italian club.
The deal is understood to be worth £9.47million including add-ons for the striker.
Via Twitter, Bendoni wrote, “Bologna reached agreement in principle to sign Dan Ndoye from FC Basel. €9m+2m deal. Everton made a proposal to the player today, but Ndoye would prefer to take another step, like Bologna, before going to Premier League. Basel taking time to find replacement.”
Not needed?
If Everton are signing Chermiti which it seems like they are then they do not really need to bring in another first-team striker.
It’s surprising to see that they made a late approach for the Swiss striker and hopefully, that does not mean the deal for the 19-year-old is off.
After Everton bring in a striker, the focus is expected to shift to a new centre-back and perhaps even a central midfielder.

They’ve already brought in Ashley Young who can play at full-back and Arnaut Dnajuma who’s a wide attacker for them.
Hopefully, they secure the services of a new striker quickly and move on with their other transfer targets.
Ndoye appeared to be an in-demand striker with West Ham, Sporting and AS Monaco also keen on the 22-year-old, per Fabrizio Romano.
In exclusive Everton news, the Toffees now have to pay £21.4m to land a Brazilian player ahead of next season.
