Everton to make Tom Cannon loan decision on Wednesday, Preston most likely destination
Everton are set to make a final decision on the future of Tom Cannon on Wednesday with Preston closest to meeting their demands, according to Alan Nixon.
Writing on his personal Twitter account (8 August), the newspaper journalist reports that a decision is expected to be made on Wednesday about the future of the young striker.
Cannon spent the second half of last season at Deepdale and is open to returning, with Everton open to his exit after the signings of Youssef Chermiti and Arnaut Danjuma during this summer transfer window.

“Decision due Wednesday,” he wrote in response to a fan asking for an update on the transfer.
“Preston still closest to what Everton want from loan fee.”
Sensible
Everton have been waiting until they get their own forward positions sorted before making a decision, and now that’s done it’s all about the best deal.
The Toffees are said to be wanting a seven-figure loan fee to let the 20-year-old leave again, and Preston are closest to that amount to secure a return for the striker.

Cannon needs regular football to continue his excellent development and potentially have a future of being the number one striker option at Everton in the next few seasons.
Getting him a loan where he will play regularly, score goals and improve as a player is vitally important and it seems the club are taking their time on making the right decision.
It’s sensible from everyone involved and hopefully the move works out well for him as it did last season and as it did for Ellis Simms last year before his premature return.
