Alan Myers issues claim on Everton announcing Youssef Chermiti transfer

Alan Myers believes that Everton are poised to announce the signing of Sporting striker Youssef Chermiti after a development on Wednesday (9 August).

According to the Sky Sports journalist, the Portuguese striker, 19, will undergo his medical on Wednesday with an announcement a day later on 10 August.

This will be the third signing of the summer for Everton after roping in Ashley Young and Arnaut Danjuma on a free transfer and loan respectively.

When asked about when he’ll be announced, Myers wrote, “I’d guess tomorrow.”

Get it done

Chermiti has been linked with a move for a while now and it’s about time that the Toffees get this one over the line as soon as possible.

They have seen what’s happened in the past when Danjuma completed his medical and then ended up joining Spurs that very window.

Fans have every right to be sceptical about this until and unless an official announcement is made and it remains to be seen what kind of impact Chermiti has.

He’s not an established senior striker yet and will have big shoulders to fill in the Toffees playing eleven as he’ll have to keep Dominic Calvert-Lewin out of the side.

Hopefully, he’s just the striker Sean Dyche needs and if the manager feels he deserves some more time, then he needs to bring in another option.

In exclusive Everton news, the Toffees now have to pay £21.4m to land a Brazilian player ahead of next season.
