Idrissa Gueye set for Everton stay amid rumours of Saudi offer
Idrissa Gueye looks set to stay at Everton after he hasn’t received an offer from a club in Saudi Arabia, according to Babacar Ndaw Faye.
The Guardian journalist tweeted on 8 August that the rumours linking the Senegalese international with a move to Al-Ahli were not true.
He said the 33-year-old hasn’t received an offer from the Saudi club and that there has’t been any discussions held with the Toffees midfielder.
Invaluable experience
Although Gueye isn’t perhaps the same player he was since he left Everton for PSG in 2019, he still has plenty to offer and is likely to be in Sean Dyche’s plans.
The midfielder has played almost 500 games across his career, including 167 in the Premier League, so he has plenty of invaluable experience to be able to pass on to his teammates.
After spending four years at Goodison Park during his two spells at the club, he knows exactly what it takes to be a Toffees player and understands the demands of the supporters.

He is seemingly a good character around the squad, so it would likely be a loss on and off the pitch if he were to decide to move on.
Although an offer isn’t currently on the table, it could be difficult for him to turn down a potentially financially rewarding move if it does come along as he approaches the latter stages of his career.
