Everton transfer news as Leeds United sale stance on Wilfried Gnonto emerges
Leeds United are not willing to sell attacker Wilfried Gnonto this summer, amid links to Everton and Aston Villa, claims Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Sky Sports journalist claimed on Thursday (10 August) that a loan move still remains on the cards for both the Premier League sides.
There is no relegation loan clause in the 19-year-old Italy international’s contract as there is for some other players at Elland Road.
Via Twitter, Di Marzio wrote, “For Gnonto at the moment Leeds is not open to the sale: the possibility of a loan remains standing in the last days of the market with Aston Villa and Everton concerned.”
Works
The Toffees anyway have a cash crunch this summer so they would fancy signing Gnonto on loan as they would not be shelling out much.
Bar a basic loan fee they will not be paying any transfer fee for the Italy international and he’ll be a crucial acquisition.
The Whites attacker is capable of playing all across the front three but prefers being deployed on the left or in a central striker position.

With Youssef Chermiti close to joining Everton, they may still require another striker as he’s not really proven himself at a top league.
Gnonto could very well be that player especially if they fail to get PSG striker Hugo Ekitike over the line in the coming days.
He was even left out of the matchday squad on Wednesday night so it’s evident that the Italian wants to leave this summer.
In exclusive Everton news, the Toffees now have to pay £21.4m to land a Brazilian player ahead of next season.
