Everton want to sign Newcastle United attacker Elliot Anderson
Everton want to sign Newcastle attacker Elliot Anderson but have been told he is not for sale, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
Writing in a column for GiveMeSport (9 August), the journalist reports that the Toffees have been tracking the 20-year-old and made an approach to the Magpies about a potential deal.
But just like several Championship clubs, they were told he is not available for a move with Eddie Howe set to include him in the first-team picture at St James’ Park this season.

“Newcastle were clear to several Championship clubs that they didn’t want to loan Anderson out this season. Luton and Everton have also tracked Anderson, but he is not for sale,” he said.
Shame
Everton clearly want to bolster the squad this summer and there are plenty of conversations going on in the background that we have no idea about.
Anderson broke into the Magpies team towards the end of last season and impressed, and then shone during pre-season this summer so it’s no surprise there was interest.

It’s also no shock that Newcastle want to keep him around, but if the player struggles for minutes in the first half of the season then this is something that Everton could return to in the future.
He has a similar playing style to the cult-hero Ross Barkley, a nimble attacking midfielder with good dribbling ability, an eye for goal and a bite to his game that means he won’t back down.
That would see him fit in perfectly at Goodison Park and for Sean Dyche, but it’s one for the future if ever and not this summer unfortunately.
