Everton now wait on Leeds United decision after behind-the-scenes Willy Gnonto development
Everton are waiting for Leeds United to make a decision regarding wantaway star Willy Gnonto, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper reported in their print edition (11 August, pg 73) that the 19-year-old told Leeds he wanted to leave and return to the Premier League following Everton’s previous £15million bid.
Gnonto, as reported by Sky Sports (10 August), has also made himself unavailable for selection for Leeds’ Championship clash against Birmingham as he attempts to force a move. Everton are monitoring the situation.

Wait and see
While it is looking increasingly likely that Gnonto will depart Leeds this summer, Everton should wait and see how this ordeal pans out.
Leeds have every right to try and hang on to their asset even after relegation from the Premier League, but following Gnonto’s actions the Whites may be best letting him go for as high a fee as possible.
However, Everton is reportedly not Gnonto’s first choice, with 90min Germany (6 August) claiming that he would prefer a move to Bundesliga side SC Freiburg. However, Fabrizio Romano has since claimed (10 August) that the Italian has already agreed personal terms with the Toffees.

While the situation unfolds, Everton fans could be excited about adding more attacking talent to the club following the additions of Arnaut Danjuma on loan from Villarreal and a nearing move for Sporting Lisbon star Youssef Chermiti.
However, Toffees fans may be concerned about the nature of any deal for Gnonto. Having forced his way out of Leeds United, it may make fans question his attitude toward the game. He may earn a reputation as someone who can disrupt a squad and a team, as he’s seemingly done at Leeds.
That being said, it is understandable that Gnonto wants a return to a top-flight club, considering his international ambitions with Italy too.
Everton could be a good destination for the youngster as he looks to reestablish himself.
In other Everton news, Alan Myers has made a “100%” prediction regarding the Toffees’ interest in a PSG starlet.
