Premier League to permit Everton debut for Youssef Chermiti v Fulham
Youssef Chermiti should be permitted to play for Everton in their opening-day clash against Fulham (12 August), according to O Jogo.
The Portuguese newspaper reported in their print edition (11 August, pg 13) that Chermiti is set to be officially announced on Thursday (11 August) for a £12.9million and that the Premier League should permit him to make his debut.
However, with the youngster only just linking up with Sean Dyche’s side, it is unlikely he will make his first appearance in the opening match.

Hopeful
It seems unlikely that Chermiti will touch grass tomorrow in Everton’s first game of the season in the Premier League, but it is exciting for Toffees fans to see him so close to completing a deal.
Upon their return to Goodison Park, fans may catch a glimpse of their soon-to-be official new signing from the stands, or the Toffees may present him on the pitch for fans to see.

Regardless, Chermiti will likely have a slow integration into the first team and Dyche knows this. Speaking before their clash against Fulham, the boss said, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo (10 August): “He’s very young in his career on the pitch and off the pitch in his natural, professional understanding but we think he’s got the raw talent and ingredients to be a good player so that’s why we’ve got him here.”
Chermiti’s “raw” talent needs to be harnessed and improved before he makes significant contributions to Everton. However, he is a very exciting prospect and the club, amid financial difficulties, would not have sanctioned a nearly £13million move for the 19-year-old if they did not believe he would become a quality asset.
However, while unlikely to make his debut, Toffees fans should be excited about what the future may hold.
In other Everton news, Fabrizio Romao has claimed that the Toffees have agreed a deal with a Championship wantaway.
