Sean Dyche stance on Willy Gnonto emerges amid Everton and Leeds United transfer development

Sean Dyche is a fan of Willy Gnonto as Everton have been linked with a move for the Leeds United forward, according to the Independent.

The Italy international is keen on a move away from Elland Road this summer as he looks to continue playing in the Premier League following his side’s relegation to the Championship.

The news outlet reported on its website on 11 August that Dyche is a “fan” of the 19-year-old as he is “trying to force his way out” of Leeds.

No surprise

It doesn’t come as much of a surprise to hear that Dyche is a fan of Gnonto after he earned a number of plaudits for his performances in the Premier League last season, where he scored two goals and laid on four assists in 24 appearances.

The teenager has been keen on remaining in the top flight and it’s the level he should really be playing at after proving his capabilities last year.

The Liverpool Echo reported on 17 July that a bid in the region of £15million from Everton had been rejected by Leeds for the Italian, with the Yorkshire club looking for closer to £20million to let him go.

But the Whites’ hand may now be forced after Sky Sports reported on 10 August that he asked not to be selected for their game against Shrewsbury Town in the Carabao Cup on 9 August.

If Everton can get a deal over the line for the forward, that would add some much-needed quality to their attacking options as the Premier League season gets underway this weekend.

In other Everton news, concerns have been expressed about the Toffees’ new stadium.
