Everton trigger clause to sign Jack Harrison on loan from Leeds United as medical starts – David Ornstein
Everton have triggered a loan clause in Jack Harrison’s contract as he closes in on a move from Leeds United, according to David Ornstein.
The Athletic journalist reported on 13 August that the deal will see the midfielder join the Toffees on an initial season-long loan, which they would like to turn into a permanent move in due course.
He said a medical is currently ongoing and personal terms are already in place with the 26-year-old, who has been one of the Blues’ top targets during the summer transfer window.
Almost there
It looks as though the signing of Harrison is almost there after Everton have triggered the loan clause in his contract and personal terms have been agreed.
A medical is currently underway for the midfielder, but he won’t be available to play for a while as he is currently suffering from a hip injury.
But Sean Dyche will be delighted to be bringing in one of his top targets this summer after he has so far struggled to improve his squad as much as he would’ve liked due to the ongoing financial constraints around the club.

A loan move for Harrison fits in perfectly while the Toffees try to get their finances in order and, if he does well on Merseyside, they can complete the deal further down the line.
The midfielder offers great versatility and Premier League experience, having made 107 appearances in the top flight before Leeds were relegated last season.
In other Everton news, a journalist has shared why Sean Dyche didn’t sign Ross Barkley.
