Farhad Moshiri and MSP Sports Capital delay could emerge over Bill Kenwright at Everton – Finance Guru
We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Everton
Dan Plumley has insisted that the cost of Bill Kenwright’s expected exit at Everton could delay any investment from MSP Sports Capital.
After paying £7million for the exits of Denise Barrett-Baxendale, Grant Ingles and Graeme Sharp [The Esk], Kenwright could take those costs above £10million should he eventually leave, as expected.
The finance expert suggested that there could be negotiations over who will pay any compensation for his exit, with Moshiri and MSP still in investment talks, it seems.

“This is where it comes down to negotiations,” he exclusively told Goodison News.
“I’m sure if you were MSP, you’d be saying that is Moshiri’s bill to foot, and Moshiri may be saying that we need to look at the bigger picture with the takeover.
“It’s one of those that will ultimately come down to negotiations and that could delay things as they can take time.”

Moshiri will be wanting any partnership in the boardroom with MSP Sports Capital to start on the right foot, so any potential sticking point will need to be resolved quickly.
This is certainly something to watch though, with the investment still not announced months after talks started between the parties at Goodison Park.
