Everton transfer news as final Leeds United stance emerges on Wilfried Gnonto

There is nothing that will change Leeds United’s mind as Everton want to secure the services of Wilfried Gnonto, according to Corriere Della Sera.

The Italian media outlet reported on its website on Thursday (17 August) that despite the Toffees being keen on the 19-year-old, Leeds will resist any offer to sell him.

Sky Sports reported on its live transfer blog on Wednesday [16 August, 15:38] that a £25million offer had been made for the Italy international by Everton.

Tough one

Leeds are making it increasingly difficult for the Toffees or any other club to secure the services of Gnonto this summer.

While most of their players had relegation clauses, the Italian does not and that’s why they can name whatever price they want for the teenager.

90Min reported on 11 August that Napoli and Juventus are both keen on Gnonto so the attacker is certainly a man in demand this summer.

Whether or not he hands in a transfer request and forces Leeds’ hand remains to be seen because he seems desperate to leave.

He proved that he’s Premier League calibre last season and one cannot hold it against him for not wanting to play in the second tier.

He’s not got long left to put his foot down and training away from the first team will perhaps force the club to give in.

In exclusive Everton news, the Toffees are now in a transfer race with Juventus and Napoli to sign an ex-Premier League attacker.
