Che Adams starts for Southampton v Plymouth after Everton transfer development

Everton target Che Adams is a confirmed starter for Southampton’s Championship clash against Plymouth Argyle, which takes place at 12:30 pm on Saturday 19 August, as confirmed by the club’s official Twitter page.

The fixture, which takes place at Home Park, is set to kick off imminently and Southampton’s official line-up included striker Adams, despite the 27-year-old being subject to interest from the Toffees.

As per talkSPORT (19 August) the Saints have turned down a £12million bid from Everton for their star striker, although Sean Dyche’s side remain interested.

And his inclusion in the match is a clear sign that they have no interest in selling the forward.

If the Saints had any thoughts of selling the player at this moment in time, they would have not included him in their league fixture and ran the risk of him potentially being injured, damaging any chances he had of securing a move away. It is also clear, that, unlike the likes of Wilfried Gnonto, the player isn’t kicking up a fuss to leave.

Adams is an influential player on the South Coast and was a rare bright spark in their Premier League relegation last season, scoring five goals while providing three assists, and keeping hold of him will be crucial for the club if they want to return to England’s top flight at the first time of asking.

Although it is just as key that Dyche brings in some attacking reinforcements and Adams could be a perfect one, considering his blend of age, experience and cost.

Nonetheless, it has not been a positive day for the Merseyside club in their pursuit.

In other Everton news, developments have taken place in the club’s transfer saga regarding Gnonto.
