Everton ‘increasingly confident’ of £15m Che Adams signing, deal in final stages
Everton are “increasingly confident” of signing Southampton and Scotland striker Che Adams, according to The Telegraph.
The newspaper reported on its website on Sunday (20 August) that the Toffees are closing in on a £15million deal for the 27-year-old.
The Telegraph added that fellow Premier League clubs Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest had also been interested in the forward.

“Everton are closing in on the £15 million signing of Southampton forward Che Adams,” according to The Telegraph. “The Scotland international is set to make a swift return to the Premier League with Everton in the final stages of agreeing a fee and payment structure with Southampton.
“Adams has attracted interest from Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest since Southampton’s relegation to the Championship but Everton are now increasingly confident of striking a deal.”

Signings desperately needed
If the first two matches of the new season have proven anything for Everton, it is that they desperately need new faces.
Ashley Young, Youssef Chermiti, Arnaut Danjuma and Jack Harrison have all arrived so far this summer, but more talent is needed if the Merseyside outfit want to have a successful season.
Of those four signings, two can play as a striker, but it remains to be seen how much of an impact loanee Danjuma and youngster Chermiti can have in that role.
The former has largely been utilised as a winger throughout his career, while the latter is only 19 years old, and may therefore need time to settle into life in England.
But one player that should be raring to go again in the Premier League is Saints striker Adams, who will be desperate to prove himself at that level following his relegation to the Championship with Southampton.
