Everton transfer news as financial claim emerges on FC Porto winger Goncalo Borges

Everton and West Ham can afford a move to sign 22-year-old FC Porto winger Goncalo Borges this summer, according to A Bola.

The Portuguese newspaper reported on its website on Sunday (20 August) that he will be costing £12.8million.

It’s understood that the Portuguese attacker wants to leave Porto with two Premier League clubs keen on securing his services.

Right move?

Everton have already brought in Arnaut Danjuma who can play on the wings and he’s likely to be the first choice eventually.

The likes of Alex Iwobi and Dwight McNeil can play on the other flank and there are links with Wilfried Gnonto as well who looks set to leave Leeds United.

This means that they look well-stacked in that department and need to sign an out-and-out striker this summer as it’s hard to rely on Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s fitness.

Funds are tight at Goodison Park so they cannot afford to be splurging on every player possible and they need to strengthen their defence first.

It remains to be seen if they get in another centre-back as they’re very weak in that area of the pitch and need reinforcements as soon as possible.

Hopefully, before the window slams shut, they bring in at least three new faces as they desperately need some fresh blood.
