Alan Pardew moots Everton points deduction as ‘honest’ verdict shared live on talkSPORT
Former West Ham manager Alan Pardew believes a points deduction could be heading the way of Everton this season.
The pundit, speaking live on talkSPORT, mooted the trouble for the Toffees due to their alleged breach of the Premier League’s financial fair play (FFP) rules.
The Merseyside club’s alleged breach will go before an independent commission on 25 October, as per BBC Sport (15 June).

“Let’s be honest, I think there’s some sort of inquiry into their spending as well, where they could get a point reduction to come on top of this,” Pardew said live on talkSPORT.
“That could be around the corner.”

Not good
Specifics of the FFP case involving the Toffees were not revealed, but it doesn’t take a genius to know that it cannot be good for the club. They have denied all wrongdoing, and are prepared to defend themselves in order to avoid any punishment.
Everton are not the first club to be under investigation for FFP issues, and they certainly won’t be the last, with authorities keen to clamp down on any such wrongdoing within the sport.
Regardless of the outcome, it really is an unwanted distraction for the club and for manager Sean Dyche, who will simply want a few weeks to work on his team without any noise or issues from the outside world.
The Merseyside outfit really need some time to get things right behind the scenes, which would then allow them to be more successful on the pitch.
But it is seemingly one problem after another for the men in blue, who right now cannot get anything right, either on or off the pitch.
