Simon Jordan delivers Everton transfer verdict after Aston Villa loss

Simon Jordan has torn into some of the Everton players after their dismal performance against Aston Villa over the weekend.

The Toffees lost 4-0 at Villa Park on Saturday and with that result are among the few teams this season yet to pick up a point or score a goal.

Jordan has urged them to make new signings and has labelled some of their players as “useless”.

He said on talkSPORT, “They need to get some bodies in the building and some of the bodies they’ve got in the building are bloody useless.

“Anybody they get in will be better. I’m sorry, I know people won’t like that and will think it’s unfair, but some of the defending on Saturday was inexcusable from so called Premier League footballers.

“They’re going to be in a battle again this season because they’re not good enough. They’ve not got enough about them and I believe Sean can only do so much.”

Spot on

The Toffees have been shambolic this season and even though they created loads against Fulham, it does not matter if they can’t score goals.

Dyche cannot be fully blamed for this as there are things going on behind the scenes that would make any manager’s job difficult.

There is no proper plan in place and unless wholesale changes are made, this side appears destined for relegation.

New boys Sheffield United and Burnley appear to be playing with more heart than Everton, at the moment, and that’s a sorry state of affairs.

Transfer developments need to happen quickly and a proven goal scorer must walk through the door in the coming days.

If Che Adams is the player they’ve decided on, then so be it, but he needs to be announced imminently and start training with the club.

In other Everton news, a first-team player linked with a Premier League rival club may now force his Goodison Park exit unless Sean Dyche axes a senior man.
