Simon Jordan shares Sean Dyche ‘solution’ verdict at Everton live on talkSPORT
Simon Jordan believes Sean Dyche will be the difference between Everton staying in the Premier League and being relegated this season.
The pundit believes that was also the case last season as the Toffees stayed up on the final day of the Premier League campaign.
Everton have suffered defeat in their opening two matches this time around, losing 1-0 to Fulham and 4-0 to Aston Villa.
“There’s a lot wrong with Everton, there’s been a lot wrong for some time,” Jordan said live on talkSPORT. “And Sean is a solution of sorts.
“He was the difference between them staying up and going down last year. I think they would have gone down if he hadn’t gone in.
“But I think he’s got a very tall order. He will be the difference I think between Everton going down and staying up this year. But they are not going to be a mid-table side, they are going to be a side that is going to be looking behind them, unless they make some changes.”
Worrying times
These really are worrying times to be an Everton supporter, with the club enduring a very poor start to the new season.
It is, of course, far too early to make any rash judgements on where the Toffees will finish this time around, but the fact they are rock bottom already is not a good sign at all.
New signings Ashley Young and Arnaut Danjuma haven’t quite had the impact Dyche wanted, while it is too early to make a verdict on fellow new arrivals Youssef Chermiti and Jack Harrison, as they are yet to appear for the Toffees.
But it seems as if those four players will not be enough to help fire the Merseyside club up the table, with a few more faces needed to really help Dyche in the coming months.
It is, however, hard to know exactly where the manager needs to strengthen, with Everton having the joint-worst record for both goals scored and goals conceded in the new Premier League campaign.
