Alan Brazil baffled by Everton stance on Demarai Gray as ‘good player’ verdict shared live on talkSPORT
Alan Brazil has been left baffled by how “very good” Everton player Demarai Gray has been treated by the club this summer.
The talkSPORT host believes the 27-year-old attacker should be getting minutes under Toffees manager Sean Dyche.
Gray, who joined the Merseyside club from Bayer Leverkusen in 2021, has yet to make an appearance for Everton this season.

Speaking live on talkSPORT, Gabby Agbonlahor discussed Everton’s attacking options: “Your top goalscorers last season were Dwight McNeil; seven goals, Demarai Gray – frozen out – six goals.
Host Brazil then interjected, saying of Gray: “Good player him, I don’t understand it.”

Exit very likely
Given Everton’s attacking struggles in the first two matches of the new Premier League season, they could obviously do with a player like Gray. But given how he has yet to feature, it seems almost certain that he is on his way out of Goodison Park.
The Toffees are yet to score from their first two games, and although Gray only netted four league goals last time out, he still represents a very decent option, either from the start or off the bench.
He enjoyed a fine summer with his nation Jamaica, and should have been ready to hit the ground running in the new campaign. But it hasn’t turned out that way, with his future at the Merseyside outfit very much up in the air.
Moreover, Everton boss Dyche has brought in wingers Arnaut Danjuma and Jack Harrison on loan from Villarreal and Leeds United respectively, further demonstrating that there is no place for Gray in his squad.
In other Everton news, a BBC pundit has shared a Toffees Premier League relegation prediction as issues “come to light.”
