Udinese striker Beto has accepted a move to Everton although the Toffees will need to increase their offer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist provided an update via Twitter in the early hours of Saturday morning (26 August), reporting that the two teams will discuss the deal again today with the Serie A outfit wanting more than the £25.7million Everton have offered.
Add-ons and the structure of payment terms could both prove to be crucial factors in making a deal happen for the 25-year-old striker.
Beto himself has already accepted the move, meaning it is now done to the clubs to get a deal across the line.
Almost there
It appears as if after a long and exhausting search for a brand new number nine, that saga might be finally coming to a close for Sean Dyche’s side. Of course, they have already announced the signing of 19-year-old frontman Youssef Chermiti from Sporting Lisbon, however, a more experienced option is still necessary.
And that experienced option could arrive in the form of Chermiti’s Portuguese countryman Beto, provided that Everton meet his current side’s demands. With the player having already accepted the switch, there are no excuses now for the Merseyside club to not get this transfer done. After all, it is a priority position on the pitch.
Beto has struck the back of the net 11 and 10 times during his two seasons in Italy’s top flight, proving that he can score consistently at the highest level, and those potential goals could be crucial to Everton’s chances of survival.
