Everton set to make ‘last attempt’ bid to sign Leeds United winger Wilfried Gnonto
Everton are prepared to increase their offer one final time in a last-ditch attempt to sign Leeds United winger Wilfried Gnonto, according to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti.
The Toffees have seen multiple approaches for the 19-year-old knocked back by the Whites, despite him previously submitting an official transfer request at Elland Road, as per David Ornstein via Twitter (18 August).
Since this development, the Italy international has been reintegrated into the first-team picture, as confirmed by his manager Daniel Farke, via the club’s Twitter page (24 August). However, this twist in the saga has not put Sean Dyche’s side off from making one last swoop, according to Galetti.
“Everton will make a last attempt to increase the offer to convince Leeds. But if the bid is rejected again, they will definitely leave negotiations and look for another target as a new offensive player,” the journalist told GIVEMESPORT (25 August).
“Another Target”
Galetti managed to provide a lot of interesting information all packed into a relatively short quote. While plenty of supporters on Merseyside will be hopeful that one last improved offer for Gnonto will do the trick, there will also be some scepticism that this deal might now be dead in the water, considering Farke has so publically stated he is willing to give the player a second chance.
Therefore, what will have given those same supporters more hope, is the claim from Galetti that the Toffees will look for “another target” should they fail in their attempt to sign Leeds’ young star. There is no doubt that this should be the bare minimum, with the club desperately in need of some attacking firepower before the window closes.

They are yet to score in either of their opening two Premier League games and if they continue with this type of form throughout the season, it might not be third time lucky in their battle against relegation.
In other Everton news, the club are close to a £15million signing for another attacker.
