Beto completes Everton medical ahead of £25.7m move, says Fabrizio Romano

Striker Beto has completed his medical tests ahead of his move to Everton, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist provided an update via Twitter on Monday evening (28 August), that the 25-year-old has completed his checks without any issues ahead of his £25.7million switch from Serie A side Udinese.

He is now set to be unveiled as the latest addition to Sean Dyche’s squad.

About time

It was left late, with just a matter of days remaining in the summer transfer window, but a senior striker is finally arriving at the club and supporters of the Toffees can now begin to get excited with Romano reporting that the deal is all-but announced.

Despite it previously being reported that a deal was agreed, medicals still needed to be completed, and with the way luck has been going against the club recently, fans wouldn’t have been blamed for having nerves that he would fail that medical. However, that is not the case, and an announcement is now imminent.

Everton

There has been no Arnaut Danjuma-esque hijack and fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief. They are without a goal during their opening three Premier League fixtures and the need for a striker is more apparent than ever.

Beto has consistently scored in Italy and will hopefully bring his shooting boots to Merseyside.

In other Everton news, the club are not slowing down as they look to get another last-minute addition across the line.
