Demarai Gray is ‘more than likely to leave’ Everton this summer amid Saudi Arabia links
It is clear that “a deal can be done” that would see Everton forward Demarai Gray move to Saudi Arabia this summer, according to journalist Paul Brown.
As reported by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano via Twitter (28 August), Al Shabab and the Toffees had agreed on a deal for the 27-year-old last week, and personal terms had also been agreed upon.
However, due to changes on the board at the Saudi Arabian club, progress has now slowed down with another club from the nation now showing interest.
“I do expect him to leave and I know the Saudi deadline isn’t the same as ours, but it’s clear from all sides that a deal can be done,” Brown told GIVEMESPORT (28 August).
“I also think all sides would quite like a deal to be done. I think there was a small issue at the Saudi end for a few days but I do think it’s more than likely he ends up there.”
Goodbye
While Gray didn’t hit any spectacular heights last season, only managing to score four times and provide one assist in the Premier League, he was still one of the club’s most productive forward players and it seems odd that Sean Dyche would allow him to leave, especially given the current circumstances.
Everton are without a goal during any of their three opening league games this season, albeit partly due to some brilliant goalkeeping performances at Goodison Park, and the club will need all hands on deck to avoid a third consecutive relegation dogfight.

It is clear that Gray is on his way out and they will need to find goals from elsewhere if they are going to avoid the drop this season. With Beto set to come in, he will be expected to find the back of the net and spearhead the attack at Goodison Park this year.
However, for Gray, it seems his future lies elsewhere.
In other Everton news, details surrounding Beto’s imminent arrival have been shared by Romano.
