Fulham in advanced talks to sign Everton star Alex Iwobi in last-gasp double signing
Everton and Fulham are in “advanced talks” about a transfer for Alex Iwobi to move back to London, according to talkSPORT.
Writing on their official Twitter account (29 August), the news outlet report that the two clubs have entered talks for the winger who is currently out injured with a hamstring problem.
Iwobi is into the final year of his contract at Goodison Park and with no agreement on a new deal found yet, the Toffees are seemingly considering cashing in rather than risking losing him for free.
“Fulham are in advanced talks with Everton for winger Alex Iwobi,” they wrote.
Blow
Iwobi has emerged as a real leader of the dressing room and a key player for this club as we have battled against relegation in recent times.
His move into central midfield was like a rebirth for him and saw him really endear himself towards the fans, with his energy, lung-busting runs and determination hugely popular in the stands.
But with a decision yet to be made on his long-term future at the club, Everton are being left in a tough situation when presented with offers.

Marco Silva is currently the Fulham boss and was obviously the man in charge at Goodison Park when we signed Iwobi, so a reunion there isn’t a real shock if it ends up happening.
But Everton simply must replace him and not be left with a big hole in their squad, and with the deadline on Friday so close it could be a case of not letting this deal happen until someone is brought in first.
In other Everton news, an unnamed Premier League club have moved to sign this Everton star.
