Youssef Chermiti sends two-word message after Everton confirmed transfer news

Everton striker Youssef Chermiti has sent a message to new signing Beto, who has joined the Merseyside club from Udinese.

The 25-year-old striker has joined the Toffees on a four-year contract, as per the official Everton website (29 August).

Everton are yet to score from their three Premier League matches this season, having lost all three, leaving them rock bottom of the table.

Welcoming the player to the club, the official Everton Instagram account posted: “Welcome, Beto!” Joining in the greetings was Toffees striker Chermiti.

Chermiti made his Toffees debut in the club’s 1-0 loss at home to Wolves on Saturday (26 August), coming off the bench in the 66th minute.

Goals incoming?

Chermiti didn’t get the dream debut he wanted when he wore blue for the first time against Wolves, with the striker failing to find the back of the net upon his arrival with 24 minutes remaining.

Fellow forward and fellow summer signing Arnaut Danjuma meanwhile is yet to open his Toffees account, having spent more time on the pitch than Chermiti in the early stages of the new season.

It remains to be seen when Beto, yet another attacker, will open his account for his new club, but everyone associated with the Toffees will be hoping that it comes on his debut.

Up next for Sean Dyche’s men is a League Cup second round trip to Doncaster Rovers on Wednesday (30 August), followed by an away trip to Sheffield United in the Premier League on Saturday (2 September).

Beto will have plenty of pressure on his shoulders, but he simply needs to immediately hit the ground running if Everton are to get out of their current rut.

In other Everton news, West Ham have matched a £30million+ Toffees bid to sign a new forward in the summer transfer window.
